Ho ho ho ho
Hey guys, sorry for not posting for so long. I have been slammed with work, on top of going through some pretty big changes in my life (albeit positive ones), but fear not, Kotonoha is not done yet. We will be back in the new year and boy, have we got some great manga for you. In fact, we now have so many scripts piled up to last us at least another year or two. So yeah, you can still count on us to deliver those less ordinary manga gems nobody is talking about. Unless of course, the Mayans were right all along and we all will be gone tomorrow. Anyway, I wish you a happy and blessed holiday. See you all in 2013!

Tale of the Tells
Finally, after a rather unfortunate break due to the loss of the project’s translator, we can present you today with the third chapter of Wolfsmund. It’s the last chapter in the first volume and a very good one, too. Not only because it introduces Wilhelm Tell, arguably Switzerland’s most famous folk hero, but also because it gives us something we have been missing in the first two chapters: a potentially worthy opponent for Wolfram. I have a strong feeling that Wilhelm Tell’s son, Walter, will play a pivotal role in the rebellion and the defeat of Wolfsmund. That would certainly be a battle worth looking forward to.

Changing topic, since there have been some questions regarding the status of our various projects, let me give you a quick rundown on where we stand:
- A Girl by the Sea
Currently awaiting the second volume. Release date unknown. - All-Rounder Meguru
We will resume work on the 7th volume at the end of February. - Garden
The last story has been translated for a while. Problem is, it’s over 120 pages long and requires a lot of redrawing, so I’m a bit intimidated right now. I’m confident we can get it done within the next 3-4 weeks though. - Gunjo
The 10th chapter is in the work and should be out within the next 1-2 weeks. - Hanashippanashi
Laika told me he wants to take this project to Illuminati-Manga, so I assume you will see the second volume from them. Until then we’ll just keep it on the Ongoing list - Kiichi!!
Against my better judgement, I’m still game to continue this project. We have translations, but unless we can find a dedicated cleaner, it will be an uphill battle. - Miyori’s Forest
The two sequels are still very much in play. Unfortunately, the translator for this project has been busy with life, so progress is rather slow. Don’t expect anything until at least April or May. - Owari to Hajimari no Miles
Currently awaiting the second volume. Release date unknown. - Paranoia Street
We have translations for the rest of volume 1, so it’s just a question of finding time to letter them. - Ran to Haiiro no Sekai
Chapter 8 is translated. I will start working on it after Gunjo 10 is done. - Raqiya
Progressing normally. We expect to release one chapter per week for the rest of volume 1. - Soil
Expect chapter 53 next week and then one new chapter every two weeks. - Wolfsmund
A bit touch-and-go since we don’t have a dedicated translator for it at the moment. Not to worry though, I’m already working on a backup plan that will get us back on track pretty soon.
Additionally, we have some projects that have been finished by someone else but which we’d still like to complete ourselves: Girlfriend, Happiness, and Seizon – LifE. Of course, their priority is quite low, so I guess we will get to them whenever I have some time to spare.
Time to Exhale?
It’s been half a year since the anti-scanlation coalition fired the first shot across our bows . Admittedly, I was impressed by the way they forced OneManga to shut down in such a short time. However, the fact is not much has happened since then. No mass C&D-ing, Mangafox is still up and running, not to mention the dozen of clones that have cropped up to replace OneManga. By now, the coalition must have realized that their task is easier said than done. My original intention was to put the blog back to public mode at the beginning of next year, but I figured why wait? Now, that doesn’t mean you should go ahead and delete your accounts. We might have to switch back at the first sign of trouble, but in the meantime let’s enjoy the fresh air while we can.
Online Reader Launched
While we are busy working on the next release, here is a little something you might want to check out: our very own manga online reader. Personally, I’m not a big fan of online readers, but I can see why they have become so popular and I do believe in giving people choices, so there you have it. Just don’t expect anything fancy like MangaToshokan or Mangafox. This will just be your basic image browser, but at least it gets the job done. I will try to add as much content as I can in the coming weeks. However, due to storage and bandwidth constraints some old projects might not find their way there. One last note: the reader can only be accessed through links on this blog, so bookmarking it directly won’t work. Just an extra safety measure.
